Rod
Kleinjan - Rod was born at Elgin,
North Dakota, attended school in Mott and graduated from Mott High School
in 1972. Rod began his broadcasting career at KBJM in Lemmon, South Dakota
in 1972. Rod attended Dickinson State University in 1973, 1974 and began
working at KDIX Radio and Television in 1974 as News and Sports Director.
Over the years Rod has been responsible for developing a large
sports listener ship for KDIX. He's known as "The Rocket" and the Sports
Voice of Dickinson State University. Currently serving as KDIX Program and
Sports
Director, Rod has served as a member of both the North Dakota and National
Sports
Casters
and Sportswriters associations. He is a past President of the NDAPSSA, and
the Blue
Hawk Boosters and presently serves on the board of directors.
For his excellence in broadcasting, Rod has received the North Dakota
Sportscaster
of the year award, the North Dakota High School Coaches Association award
of merit and the Blue Hawk Boosters loyalty award. Rod and his wife Amy (Klug)
Kleinjan have two children, Kayla Rae, a junior at Dickinson State
University and Trent James, a student at Dickinson High School. The
Kleinjan's reside at 107 Sixth Avenue East, Dickinson. |
